Privacy Policy for RuleStudio for SwiftLint

Groovy Software Labs LLC ("we," "us") develops RuleStudio for SwiftLint ("RuleStudio"), a macOS application that provides a graphical interface for the SwiftLint tool. This policy explains how RuleStudio handles your information. In short: RuleStudio does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.
1. Information We Collect
We collect nothing. RuleStudio has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking technologies, and no third-party data-collection SDKs. We do not receive any information about you or your use of the app.
2. Your Files and Code
To do its job, RuleStudio reads Swift source files and configuration files from folders you explicitly choose to open within the app. This processing happens entirely on your device. Your files and their contents are never uploaded, transmitted, or sent to us or to any third party.
The Mac App Store edition of RuleStudio runs within Apple's App Sandbox and can only access the specific files and folders you grant it access to.
3. Files We Write
At your request, RuleStudio may create or modify a SwiftLint configuration file (typically named ".swiftlint.yml") in a location you choose. This file is written locally on your device. RuleStudio does not transmit its contents anywhere.
4. Network Access
RuleStudio makes no network connections on its own. The only time it accesses the network is when you explicitly choose to import a SwiftLint configuration from a URL you enter. In that case, RuleStudio makes a secure (HTTPS) request to that URL to download the configuration file you asked for. It sends no information about you or your device — only the standard request needed to fetch the file. No other network activity occurs.
5. Data Sharing
Because we collect no data, we have no data to share, sell, or disclose.
6. Children's Privacy
RuleStudio is a developer tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we change how RuleStudio handles information, we will update this policy and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect in a released version of the app.
